Dancers of the Pulse
Kristin Allen
Kristin Allen grew up in Salisbury, Maryland where she trained and performed with Salisbury Dance Academy and Eastern Shore Ballet Theatre. She graduated in 2023 with a BFA in Dance and a Theater minor from Radford University. During her time there she was honored with performing in faculty and guest choreographer pieces by James Robey, Amy Vankirk, Inessa Plekhanova, Ji-Eun Lee, Deborah McLaughlin, Rachel Rugh, Max Reed and many others, all ranging in a variety of styles. Following college, she moved to Ohio and spent a year in Dayton Contemporary Dance Company's Second Company training and performing while also teaching for Art in Motion dance studios. As a performer, Kristin aspires to develop connections with other artists and presents for the charity of said art.
Abby Bowman
Abby Bowman graduated from Ohio University with a Masters of Arts Administration (MAA) degree, focusing on Community Dance, in August 2024. She previously earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Dance Performance and Choreography, along with a certificate in Social Media, in Spring 2023. During her time at Ohio University, Abby was cast in works by Anthony Alterio, Dr. Christi Camper Moore, Amy Miller (of Gibney Dance in New York), the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, and several student choreographers. In 2023, she performed Dr. Camper Moore’s piece at the American College Dance Association’s East Regional Conference. Upon graduating in 2024, Abby completed a professional internship in the arts with the Lancaster Festival. She also has extensive experience in production work across venues such as the Shirley Wimmer Dance Theater, Templeton Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium, and the Lancaster Festival. Abby is currently the Assistant Stage Manager and Event Coordinator for Pittsburgh Dance Workshop and recently served as an assistant choreographer for Wilmington College’s Community Summer Theater (2025).
Simone Burnett
Simone Burnett was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH, where she began her dance journey. Miss Burnett started her dance career at local dance studios such as, Nancy Norrick’s School of Ballet, SDA Studios, and Le Jeune Dance Academy, and later became a certified dance instructor. Her focus was initially Ballet/Pointe, Contemporary, Modern, and Jazz. However, she later adopted styles including, West African dance, Tap, Dancehall, Cunningham technique, and more. Burnett continued her dance career to The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance and Arts Entrepreneurship in May of 2022. During her time at OSU, Burnett studied Performance, Choreography, Intermedial Arts, Dance Production, Arts Administrative studies, and Somatic dance practices. Burnett also danced nationally and internationally, where she travelled for various types of thesis research, performance opportunities, and dance conferences such as but not limited to: Salvador de Bahia, Brazil as part of the OSU Dance Brazil Tour Group 2020 and Reykjavik, Iceland to perform in Daniel Robert’s recent Cunningham work, Are We Ok? in the fall of 2021, Dayton and Philadelphia for the International Association of Blacks in Dance, and more. Burnett is a former first-company member of Spectrum Dance Theater in Seattle, Washington for the 2022/2023 season and later continued to perform as an independent artist. Simone is excited to continue her journey with InPulse Dance Company for the 2025 season!
Sarah Chavez
Sarah Chavez is originally from St. Louis, Missouri, where she first fell in love with dance—especially ballet—and earned her Cecchetti Ballet certification through Grade Six. She received her BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from the University of Missouri–Kansas City under Gary Abbott, Michael Blake, DeeAnna Hiett, Tobin James, David Justin, and Ronn Tice. Sarah has trained extensively across the country with prestigious programs including Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Company, Ballet West, and SALT Contemporary Dance. She has performed works by choreographers such as Kevin Iega Jeff, Cleo Parker Robinson, Kia Smith, Caleb Brauner, and Joshua Manculich. Sarah is most proud of her diverse and well-well rounded training, and is grateful to have performed professionally in a wide range of styles including ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, musical theatre, and circus arts across concert, corporate, and commercial dance settings. Her professional credits include Quixotic Cirque Nouveau, Worlds of Fun Theme Park Entertainment, Houston Contemporary Dance Company, and Whirlwind Dance Company. In addition to performing, Sarah has great love for teaching and choreography, and is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of artists.
Abby Doerr
Abby Doerr began her pre professional training in her home town of Cleveland Ohio at Spotlight Dance Center. Recently, she has graduated from Ohio State University with her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Dance. During her time at Ohio State, Abby worked with choreographers such as Sidra Bell, Abby Zbikowski, Dante Puleio, Valarie Williams, Alfonzo Cervera, and many more. In her time performing with Abby Zbikowski, she toured around the country performing at the American College Dance Association, both regional and national levels and received an invitation to perform at Jacob’s Pillow. Now dancing and choreographing professionally around Columbus, Abby is continuing to work with The OSU Dance Department as a dancer and collaborator with graduate professionals. She also is helping to build the next generation of dancers as an instructor at Artisan Dance Studio. Abby is in her first season with Inpulse Dance Co, performing works by Trezon Dancy.
Abbey Griffin
Abbey Griffin is originally from Kansas City, Kansas where she grew up training at Legacy School of the Arts and Crescendo Conservatory. She graduated from Kansas State University in 2025, earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition and Health, a secondary major in Dance and the Human Experience, and a certificate in Dance Performance. While at Kansas State, Abbey received the Undergraduate Research Amplification Project Grant for her choreographic research titled “‘the way that it is’: Using dance as a tool for understanding and communicating mental health struggles,” where she was mentored by Kate Digby and Stephen Loch to present her research at the American College Dance Association and the Undergraduate Research Symposium. Abbey has had the honor of working with and performing pieces by Yoshito Sakuraba, José Limón, Alexander Olivieri, Bubba Carr and many others. After earning her degree, she moved to Columbus, Ohio where she has and continues to train and perform with Whirlwind Dance Company. Abbey is so excited to join InPulse this season.
Hannah McGuffey
Hannah McGuffey (Columbus, OH) graduated from Wright State University in 2026 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. She has performed in WSU’s Spring Dance Concert, Arts Gala, and choreographed and performed in the Emerging Choreographers and Fall Dance Concerts. Her training includes, American Dance Festival, Stivers School for the Arts, Gem City Ballet, Dayton Ballet. She also completed a season with Dayton Contemporary Dance Company’s Second Company (DCDC2). She has had the privilege of performing works by Ray Mercer, Ashley Pabst, Gina Walther, Shonna Hickman-Matlock, DeShona Pepper Robertson, Autumn Eckman, Stephanie Martinez, and Barbara Pontecorvo. Passionate about both performance and choreography, Hannah is committed to continuing her artistic growth and looks forward to a professional career that allows her to inspire and connect with others through dance.
Laura Patterson
Laura Patterson is a freelance dance artist based in Columbus, Ohio. She has performed with a range of local and national companies, including STILGO Dance + Tech, Perennial Movement Group, All Our Friends Collective, and SALT II in Salt Lake City, Utah.
As an educator, Laura has taught at institutions such as Columbus State Community College, BalletMet, and Dublin Dance Center & Gymnastics, as well as through community-based organizations including Momentum-Excellence, Art Possible Ohio, the Columbus Museum of Art, and Perennial Movement Group.
Laura also creates original choreography under the name Lp & dancers, with work presented at the Wexner Center for the Arts, Columbus Performing Arts Center, Ohio History Center, McConnell Arts Center, Ohio Poetry Association, City Dance Showcase, and Clintonville Farmer’s Market.
In addition to her artistic work, Laura holds several leadership and administrative roles. She is the Advanced Teams Manager for Momentum-Excellence, Community Engagement Coordinator for the Dublin Dance Foundation, and Director of the Modern Performance Company and Youth Company at Dublin Dance Center & Gymnastics. She is also Co-Founder and administrator of the Columbus Community Dance Class and serves on the Columbus Dance Alliance Leadership Team.
Macy Perry
Macy Perry is a graduate from Wright State University with her BFA in dance. She was a company member and choreographer for Dayton Dance Initiave’s 2025 season, where she debuted her piece “Maybe You Know This Story” alongside collaborator and creative non fiction writer, Karen Maner. Macy’s choreographic works have been performed in Impermanent Gallery’s Wild Goose Dance Festival and New Vision Dance Company’s Ten Tiny Dances, and Dayton Live Creative Academy’s SIX: The Musical. Macy was a second company member with Dayton Contemporary Dance Company for the 2024-2025 season. She performed alongside the main company in their show “The Littlest Angel.” She was an apprentice for CPR Dance: Inhale Movement where she performed in various locations across Michigan. Macy’s choreographic work has been performed alongside notable choreographers such as: Ray Mercer, Jennifer Sydor, Gina Walther, and Hannah Williamson. She partnered with Dayton Dance Initiative to share her work with the city of Dayton for their celebration of the arts: Art in the City. Macy is also a 200 hour certified yoga instructor through Eternal Yoga and enjoys sharing her practice with others. She is so excited to join Inpulse Dance Company this season.
Mandi Weitz
Mandi Weitz is a dance performer, creator, and educator currently based in Dayton, Ohio. She most recently worked in St. Louis, MO, as a company artist and choreographer for Pack Dance during their 2025-2026 season. Additionally, she has performed professional works for Resilience Dance Company, Whirlwind Dance Company, Gateway Swing Classic, St. Louis Contemporary Dance Festival, and Ohio Dance Festival. From 2023-2024, she held a position with Dayton Contemporary Dance Company 2 where she performed choreography by Shonna Hickman-Mattlock, Kevin Ward, Crystal Michelle Perkins, Countess Winfrey, and others. Mandi graduated from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) in December 2023 with her BFA in contemporary ballet and a minor in dietetics. From 2014 to 2020, she trained with Dayton Ballet as a second company member, performing professional-level roles under Karen Russo Burke. Mandi has taught for Pack Dance, Dayton Live Creative Academy, Dayton Ballet, and Mutual Dance Theater. She has also choreographed concert works for Synergy Dance Series, CCM, American Dance Festival SDI, and Dayton’s Art in the City, as well as musical theater productions for Dayton Live Academy, Carroll High School, and Springboro Community Theater. Mandi has attended American Dance Festival’s Summer Dance Intensive as a scholarship recipient, Cincinnati Ballet’s Collegiate Intensive, Summer and Winter Traction at Attack Theater, GagaLab Winter Intensive in New York City, and Mutual Dance Theater's Adult Intensive. She also traveled to Panama City, Panama, as a dance diplomat in 2022 and again as an alumni leader in 2024 with Movement Exchange, a non-profit organization that provides arts education to underserved communities nationally and internationally. Mandi is excited to be joining InPulse for her first season!
Jessica Werfel
Jessica Werfel is a movement artist from Northern Virginia. She graduated from Elon University with a B.F.A. in Dance Performance and Choreography and B.A. in Arts Administration.
As a performer, Jessica has danced at venues both nationally and internationally, with highlights including performances at the Teatro Della Compagnia in Florence, Italy, and the Indeterminacy Festival on Governors Island. Jessica has performed with Gin Dance Company, Kista Tucker Insights Modern Dance Company, the Fairfax Ballet, and in works by choreographers such as Janice Rosario and Christian Denice. She also directs her own project, Movement Unscripted, that researches movement improvisation.
She has taught at the Dance Academy of Virginia, Russell School of Ballet, Dance Place, Peacehaven Community Farm in North Carolina, and at dance festivals across the United States. She is thrilled to be joining the Inpulse and the Columbus dance community!

Chelsea Wintzer
Chelsea Wintzer is a performer, choreographer, and educator born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. She began dancing at 4 years old and continued to expand her dance artistry and knowledge at The Ohio State University, where she studied Strategic Communications with Minors in Dance and Professional Writing.
Chelsea has performed across a wide range of platforms, from intimate works to fully staged productions, collaborating with musicians, painters, and multimedia artists to create immersive performance experiences. Recent highlights include collaborating and performing with Perennnial Movement Group, Dr. V’s Generations Band, and Katherine Moore & Kathryn Logan’s Homing: An Audio Movement Journey. She has also performed solo works in community-centered spaces bringing dance into accessible and creative spaces.
She is devoted to making dance accessible to people of all ages and experience levels, where she highlights the importance of finding your flow in the movement by using improvisational techniques. Through performance, teaching, and community engagement, Chelsea continues to share dance as a powerful tool for fostering connection and community. She is excited to continue to develop these tools with InPulse Dance Company!
